Cale is a quiet, intense young man. This is only his second tour as a Marine, and his assignment to the Void State is considered unusual. He is entirely unmodified - also an unusual choice.

His dedication to duty and strong spiritualism made him popular with his previous squadmates, and endeared him to his commanding officers - which may explain his relatively high rank at his young age.

His major weakness is the opposite sex, and he is forever floundering in the ocean of social interaction.

Natalie is an enigma; she does not talk about her past, or what she did before joining the Marines.

It is known that she is (perhaps considerably) older than she looks. She has an easy familiarity with command that suggests previous military experience, and she is heavily augmented with cybernetics.

She has been with the Marines for 15 years and has recieved exemplary marks throughout her tours. She was selected for service on the Void State as a reward for her efforts, and it is expected that she will make either Chief or Lieutenant at the end of this tour.

Gabriel is an easygoing, life of the party guy. He is a get-over artist and scrounger without peer, and it is only his skill at the latter that has prevented him from getting into more trouble than he has over the former. He is forever finding "unassigned" equipment for his squad that helps with the mission, even if such equipment does not strictly fall within the squad's TO&E (Table of Organization and Equipment).

He has been promoted, and busted, several times in his career. His assignment to the Void State comes as a special request from Natalie, who values his skills highly.

He was given several genetic modifications by his parents, and has indulged in an extensive array of biotech modifications (some of which fall in a certain gray area of legality) in his tour with the Marines.

Arushi believes the Marines to be one large fraternity, and makes a point of being friends with absolutely everyone she can get her hands on. She is a social juggernaut and emotional firebrand and lives her life on the sharp, high energy edge of what the Marines have to offer.

She is also a talented computer specialist with a strong understanding of AI's and a keen mind.

She received assignment to the Void State is in recognition her skills, but her previous commanding officer also hoped that life aboard a ship (with its inherent limit in targets) might moderate her social conquests.
